"Joanne Dennison has the unique gift of understanding
your underlying needs and wants when you yourself can't identify them.
When I am at a crossroads, Joanne counsels me by listening and asking
me very direct questions (those that I was afraid to ask myself) and
the answer which I was seeking soon becomes obvious."
Angela Aubin, CMP
"I wanted to thank you for all your help and guidance. After
working with you, I now have a clear direction and goals. You
saw qualities in me I didn't realize I had. You recognized resources
that I had forgotten about and shared with me your own resources
as well. You certainly are instrumental in my success and
I thank you."
Chris Schmieder, CMP, CMM
GUIDANCE COUNSELOR FOR GROWN - UPS
Ready for the next step, but can't get started?
Though
as adults we are not assigned a Guidance Counselor as we were in High
School, sometimes we need someone to guide us in the right direction
and advise us on how to move forward and get to our goals.
Joanne will
work with you to set your goals and vision for your personal and/or
professional life. She will help you to establish a doable, realistic
plan of action to get you where you want to be.
Usually designed as a
one-hour, once a week telephone or in person session, combined with
email and telephone correspondence, it is tailored to meet the individual
needs of every client. Face - to - face
meetings can be arranged in accordance with client's preference.
Client contracts vary in length of time and number of weekly meetings
is based on each individual's goals.
Joanne is an expert on getting
people moving forward in a positive and productive way, leading ordinary
people to extraordinary results. She has been affectionately tagged
the "Guidance Counselor for
Grown-Ups" by the individuals she has motivated and lovingly
pushed as they went kicking and screaming toward their goals.
Known
for her straightforward and sometimes humorous style, Joanne has been
called a "lightning rod of inspiration" and "someone
you want in the room when you have a problem to solve."
From
Joanne:
I have been mentoring for longer than I can remember. As
an RA in college, I served as an advisor to undergraduate residents
in my halls. As a College Associate Dean in Student Affairs, I worked
with students in achieving their short-term and long-term goals. In
2004, for the third year in a row, I was awarded " Mentor of
the Year" by the New Jersey
chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
Not being the athletic
type, the term "coaching" didn't
work for me personally. Every time people would say I should be doing
this I would fight it. Finally after years of just doing this, out of
instinct, people started trying to hire me. I still kept insisting that
it wasn't me. The irony was I was supporting and encouraging others
to find their talents and take risks to reach their goals and dreams.
So now I walk my talk!
